School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

Children from Y1-Y6 vote for the nominee they think would be the best representative for their class.

The School Council meet with Mrs Carroll monthly to express their views and to make decisions. Mrs Cliff, one of our school governors, also attends meetings to offer advice and support.  Ideas are shared in class and suggestions taken from other children to the meetings.

Our School Council are very keen to help make our school the best it can be!

Jenny came to say hello

We had a visit from Sue and Jenny. Jenny is a 9 month old Labrador who is training to be a guide dog. Sue told us about the training Jenny has to do in order to become a guide dog. We loved seeing Jenny and Jenny also loved visiting us. Sue said it was a very important job being able to let Jenny meet lots of different people in a variety of places.

World Book Day

We were asked to dress up as our favourite book character for the day and bring in a book to swap. During the day different teachers came into our class to read us their favourite story. In the afternoon we had a book swap, where we donated money to swap a book with someone else in the class. The money we raised £81.50 is being given to a school in Uganda, so they can purchase new books for their library.

Christmas Jumper Day 2017

Friday 15th December was National Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for Save the Children. Children were asked to wear their Christmas Jumper in exchange for a donation to Save the Children.  Even the staff took part. We raised nearly £100 for this charity. Well done Everyone.

Children in Need 2017

We had lots of fun with our crazy hair, silly socks and lots of spots to support Children in Need 2017. We raised £222 for the charity.

Remembrance Sunday

As part of the build up to Remembrance Sunday, we made a whole school picture of a soldier in a poppy field. Everyone helped to make poppies out of bun cases, tissue paper and using paints. We spent time thinking about all the soldiers who died from the village of St. Michael's.

Harvest

We were asked to make harvest boxes for our Church Service and we tried to add some Fairtrade items. In Church we decorated a window with fruit and vegetables.

Wyre in Bloom - Civic Centre Poulton

Anna and Rachael were delighted to be invited to the Mayoral Chambers to receive our Gold Award for Wyre in Bloom. Anna & Rachael are members of our gardening club and they have been busy throughout the year, growing vegetables to eat, planting bulbs and sowing seeds.

Flying our new School Flag

We were delighted to receive our new School Flag, which was bought for us by a past pupils Olivia & Alexander Cliff. We were delighted to invite Mrs. Cliff to help us raise the flag. Our School Council were excited to see the flag flying!

Enterprise Week

Each class was given £50 to research, make and produce items to sell. We looked at what our margins could be, to make the most profit but at affordable prices. Take a look at what each class made.
