Summer Term 1

Robots

Robots 1
Today in class we made our very own Robots. We have made our robots and Miss Brown has photographed each part of the process so that over the next week we can begin to write a recount of how we made them. We have enjoyed making our robots and will be bringing them home with us once we have finished our recounts.

Summer Term 2

Topic

Our topic this half term is 'The Great Outdoors' which has allowed us to explore all the different materials that we can find outside in our environment. We have enjoyed finding items, from within our environment and classroom, and being able to identify the material that is has been made from. We have also explored human and physical features in the world which helped us on our trip to Windermere. We were able to spot all the different human and physical features in the Lake District and understand how they were made.

Literacy

This term, with Miss Brown, the children have been looking at 'The Great Outdoors' and looked at the story 'Stuck' by Oliver Jeffers. The children were fascinated by the amount of things that he managed to get stuck into a tree trying to get his kite down that we thought we could have a go at writing our own. In our stories our school was thrown up into the tree, an elephant was thrown up and even a rocket was thrown up into it. We also looked at playground rhymes and wrote our own version of 'Here we go round the Mulberry Bush.' Why don't you ask us to sing our own version, 'Here we go round the deep, dark forest' to you?
