  • Oak Class Tidy Up!

    Fri 29 Sep 2023

This afternoon, Oak Class were really busy developing their gross motor skills. The class worked together to scoop, sweep, stretch, grab and brush as they cleared up our outdoor area. Leaves, leaves, leaves everywhere!

Why are gross motor skills so important you ask?

Gross Motor skills enable children to perform everyday tasks and functions. Confidence and coordination in gross motor skills are essential for children in order to move on to fine motor skills which enable amazing writers. If your child finds writing difficult, for example they can't hold a pencil correctly or write their name, this could be an indicator that they need more gross motor development and then fine motor.

    Great job, Oak!

Elm Class had a fabulous time yesterday learning about Victorian Classrooms with Del from Delve into History. They looked at photographs and objects from the past, what children wore, how they were expected to behave and what happened if they didn't! They had great fun and are probably very grateful school is no longer like that!

Well done to our crown winners, although they were all fabulous and it was so hard to choose. Big thanks to Rory's Grandma for the amazing bunting she made for Elm class!

Thank you to Sushila who visited Elm class last week and led a worship on Compassion and Kevin, our sponsor child in Rwanda. Elm class learnt a lot about Rwanda and what life is like living there. We all got a reminder of how much we are helping give Kevin a good education along with food and support.
