Instrument of Government
- The name of the school is St Michael's on Wyre Church of England Primary & Nursery
- The school is a Voluntary Aided School
- The name of the governing body is "The governing body of St Michael's on Wyre Church of England Primary School"
- The school has a trust deed dated 5 November 1892
- The ethos statement of this voluntary school is: recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
- The governing body shall consist of :
- 2 parent governors
- 1 local authority governor
- 1 staff governor
- 1 headteacher
- 7 foundation governors
- Total Number of Governors 12

- The Diocesan Board of Education for the Diocese of Blackburn appoints foundation governors (i) 3 on the nomination of the Parochial Church Council of St. Michael's-on-Wyre (ii) on the nomination of the Principal Officiating Minister for the Parish of St. Michael's-on-Wyre.
- If the Principal Officiating Minister (or is there is a vacancy in the office) is unwilling to nominate foundation governors, then the Diocesan Board of Education appoints appropriate governors in consultation with the Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry within which the school is situated.

- The holder of the following office shall be a foundation governor ex-officio: the Principal Officiating Minister for the Church of St. Michael's-on-Wyre.
- The Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry within which the school is situated shall appoint a foundation governor to act in the place of the ex-officio foundation governor whose governorship derives from the office named in (a) above, in the event that that ex-officio foundation governor is unable or unwilling to act as a foundation governor, or there is a vacancy in the office by virtue of which his governship exists, or has been removed from office under Regulation 21(1).
- The Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry within which the school is situated or the Diocesan Director of Education shall have the power to request the removal of the ex-officio foundation governor and to appoint any substitute.
- This instrument of government comes into effect on 1st September 2015.
- This instrument was made by order of Lancashire local authority on 8 June 2015.
- A copy of the instrument must be supplied to every member of the governing body (and the headteacher if not a governor), and to trustees and all bodies which appoint foundation governors.
