  • Road Safety

    Fri 06 Mar 2026

Our Year 4, 5, and 6 School Councillors met with Hamish, the Road Safety Officer from Lancashire County Council, this morning to discuss ways of tackling the parking issues around our school.

After a discussion and a vote, Pippa and Penny were nominated as our Junior Road Safety Ambassadors. However, the whole School Council will continue working together to help improve road safety outside school.

News will soon be shared about a competition to design new road safety banners, as well as the possibility of a Road Safety March in the summer term!

  • A fun and busy week!

    Fri 06 Mar 2026

We are so proud of all our children and our school community this week. We began on Monday with a lovely worship led by Mr Wilkinson, reflecting on Lent and thinking about letting go of things that distract us or prevent us from developing a deeper relationship with God. Thank you to Ellie for helping to demonstrate this important message.

Yesterday we had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day and sharing our love of books. The children looked fabulous in their pyjamas and were all ready to cuddle up and share a story with our parent visitors in the afternoon. Thank you to everyone who had the chance to attend. ( More pictures to follow)

Well done to this week’s Stars for consistently demonstrating respect across our school to both adults and their peers.

We are also incredibly proud of our Year 5/6 children who represented the school brilliantly at GCA last night in the Glow Dodgeball competition. It was especially lovely to hear from staff at other schools about how well behaved our children were — it makes us all very proud. Thank you for representing our school so well.

Happy birthday to Austin, who celebrates this week. We hope you have a wonderful party.

Congratulations as well to our children who are excelling outside of school in Squirrels, dance, cricket and swimming. Keep up the amazing work!

  • OPAL play

    Thu 05 Mar 2026

The beautiful weather  made OPAL play at lunchtime even more enjoyable. Children took part in a wide variety of activities including dance, cheerleading, scooting, football, gymnastics, Lego and time in the mud kitchen. It was wonderful to see pupils playing together, sharing equipment and showing great teamwork as they created games, built together and encouraged one another.

    Fri 27 Feb 2026

Congratulations to this week’s Stars for showing us how well they can follow our school expectations — behaving kindly and safely, respecting people and property, and listening carefully and following instructions. We really appreciate all your efforts.

Well done to Willow and Lizzy for their fantastic achievements outside of school. Willow received a medal for dancing the Waltz, which is a wonderful accomplishment, and Lillie earned her Brownie 100 badge — a great milestone. We are very proud of you both for your dedication and hard work. 🎉

Congratulations to this week’s stars for demonstrating the value of thankfulness in their learning, friendships, manners, and thoughtfulness. We are very proud of you all!

Well done to our sporting stars who have recently achieved awards in ice skating, swimming, gymnastics, fencing and cricket. Congratulations also to our Year 3/4 boys for representing the school at Glow Dodgeball last night. Mrs Shields shared that Miss Rainbow at Garstang Academy commented on your fantastic behaviour, which makes us all very proud. She also said you were the best dressed! A huge thank you to Mrs Shields for accompanying the boys on her day off—it is truly appreciated.

Happy birthday to Connie and Ophelia! We hope you both have a fabulous day when it comes.

  • Talent Show

    Thu 22 Jan 2026

What an amazing night we had at our School Talent Show on Wednesday! 🌟
We were so proud of our fabulous group of talented children who absolutely blew us away with their efforts — from singing and dancing to piano playing, guitar and ukulele, roller skating, and even joke telling. Every single performer was FABULOUS! 👏🎤🎶

We were overwhelmed by the success of the evening and the incredible support from our parents. A huge thank you to the PTA for their help with setting up and selling refreshments, and to our three judges for making such difficult decisions — not an easy task with so much talent on display!

Thank you to Reverend Wilkinson, Mr Walters (our Chair of Governors), and Michelle Parry from Positive Footprints for judging the event.

    And finally, huge congratulations to:
🏆 Clover, our overall winner, for her beautiful performance of Jolene by Dolly Parton
💃 Alice for her stunning self-choreographed contemporary dance
🩰 Connie, Matilda and Sofia for Shaking Their Tail Feathers in their fantastic dance performance

Well done to everyone involved — what a night to remember! 💫💙

  • The Christmas Story

    Wed 17 Dec 2025

Elm Class really enjoyed their visit to Great Eccleston Free Methodist Church to listen to a live version of the Christmas story. They met Mary, Angel Gabriel, the shepherds, and the wise men. A huge thank you to Pastor Dunn and the church members for inviting us and putting on such a wonderful event for the children. Merry Christmas, and thank you!
