Road Safety
Fri 06 Mar 2026Our Year 4, 5, and 6 School Councillors met with Hamish, the Road Safety Officer from Lancashire County Council, this morning to discuss ways of tackling the parking issues around our school.
After a discussion and a vote, Pippa and Penny were nominated as our Junior Road Safety Ambassadors. However, the whole School Council will continue working together to help improve road safety outside school.
News will soon be shared about a competition to design new road safety banners, as well as the possibility of a Road Safety March in the summer term!

A fun and busy week!
Fri 06 Mar 2026We are so proud of all our children and our school community this week. We began on Monday with a lovely worship led by Mr Wilkinson, reflecting on Lent and thinking about letting go of things that distract us or prevent us from developing a deeper relationship with God. Thank you to Ellie for helping to demonstrate this important message.
Yesterday we had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day and sharing our love of books. The children looked fabulous in their pyjamas and were all ready to cuddle up and share a story with our parent visitors in the afternoon. Thank you to everyone who had the chance to attend. ( More pictures to follow)
Well done to this week’s Stars for consistently demonstrating respect across our school to both adults and their peers.
We are also incredibly proud of our Year 5/6 children who represented the school brilliantly at GCA last night in the Glow Dodgeball competition. It was especially lovely to hear from staff at other schools about how well behaved our children were — it makes us all very proud. Thank you for representing our school so well.
Happy birthday to Austin, who celebrates this week. We hope you have a wonderful party.
Congratulations as well to our children who are excelling outside of school in Squirrels, dance, cricket and swimming. Keep up the amazing work!

OPAL play
Thu 05 Mar 2026The beautiful weather made OPAL play at lunchtime even more enjoyable. Children took part in a wide variety of activities including dance, cheerleading, scooting, football, gymnastics, Lego and time in the mud kitchen. It was wonderful to see pupils playing together, sharing equipment and showing great teamwork as they created games, built together and encouraged one another.
