  There was lots of excitement during this morning’s Judo taster assembly, with children enthusiastically volunteering to demonstrate some of the moves!

  Follow the link, emailed out earlier today, to sign your child up for Judo Club, which begins next Thursday after school.

  

• First Day back!

  We are all settling in well to our first day at school and nursery, as well as into our new classes. There is a real sense of busyness in school, with everyone working hard, looking very smart, and showing a positive attitude towards the new school year.

  What a great event it was! All the children participated enthusiastically, and there was tremendous support from parents. GCA students helped organise and run the events, and the judo demonstration was great fun! We finished the day with a fabulous BBQ. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a great success.

• River visit

  Great walk for our Early Years group to the river this morning to see the construction vehicles in action as they work on repairing the riverbank. Lots of fun was had trying out the machinery

  

• River Wyre Improvements

  Willow Class had an excellent lesson delivered by Mark from AE Yates Limited! The children learnt about the vital role of civil engineers and the current work improving the bank of the River Wyre. After exploring the various roles within civil engineering, the children concluded the lesson with a hands-on project, designing and building their own roads and machinery. Tomorrow, they’ll have the exciting opportunity to see Mark’s company in action during a visit to the Rivermede site.

  

• NSPCC Number Day

  We had some fantastic outfits for Friday’s NSPCC Number Day, with rockstars, Bond characters, calculators, and numbers making an appearance! A big thank you for your support — we raised over £150 for the NSPCC, and the children had a wonderful time engaging in fun math activities throughout the day.
